United Arab Emirates University (UAEU) Scholarships are granted to eligible students and provide a full package of benefits, which includes the full tuition waiver, monthly stipend, housing or housing allowance, health insurance and may also include research support. The housing benefit is provided to International students if they reside outside. Health insurance is provided to International students if their visa is sponsored by UAEU as a student.  Health Insurance, visa and housing for the student’s family members will not be covered by the University.

Scholarships for pursuing PhD programme.

  1. The fully funded United Arab Emirates University (UAEU) scholarship provides free education that means no tuition fee is required to study in the UAE
  2. A monthly stipend AED 7500/- will be provided to United Arab Emirates University (UAEU) Scholars
  3. The UAE student VISA application fee will be paid by United Arab Emirates University (UAEU)
  4. Scholarships are awarded for a maximum period of 4 years at the PhD level.

Eligibility/Requirements to apply for a United Arab Emirates University (UAEU) for PhD

The program is designed to recruit and support primarily PhD students. Applicants for Graduate Research Scholarships must meet the following criteria:

  • The student must have a GPA of 3.5 or higher in the Master’s degree.
  • The student must maintain a GPA of 3.3 or higher at the PhD level.
  • The student must not be financially sponsored by any other organization or hold any active employment.
  • The student must enrol full-time in a minimum of 9 graduate credits per semester or obtain approval of the dean of College of Graduate Studies for lower than 9 credit hours.

English Language Requirements for a United Arab Emirates University (UAEU) for PhD

A score of 6.5 or higher on the IELTS Academic exam or equivalent, for all disciplines in which the main language of instruction is English or the dissertation, must be written in English. This test score must be less than two years old at the time of application.

Submit the completed application form with the following documents (all in English)

  • Copy of CV with a list of relevant publications
  • Copy of Bachelor degree transcript
  • Copy of Master degree transcript
  • Statement of research interest
