tanding for Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology, KAIST is the first research university that was established by the Korean Government. Being the first one of its kind, this institution receives financial support from the government, and in return, KAIST conducts governmental research and top-level experiments for the nation.

Ever since this institution was established, KAIST held great authority in STEM-related fields such as science, technology, engineering, and math. Due to its renown in this specific area, KAIST is probably the most prestigious university in South Korea when it comes to science and technology.

As you might have expected, many international students apply for KAIST admissions due to its high academic prestige, but few are selected to join its ranks. Due to the large number of applicants, only the top few are selected, which means you need to put forth your best effort when applying for KAIST admissions. Now, let’s look at KAIST scholarships for international students.

How Do I Apply To KAIST Scholarships?

Before you can apply for scholarships offered by KAIST, you have to first choose your program and apply for admissions. For undergraduate admissions, international applicants have to first meet the eligibility criteria listed by KAIST, and if you do meet all the eligibility requirements, you can use the undergraduate admissions guide to start the application process.

If you want to apply for a KAIST graduate program, you need to meet the academic requirements and the citizenship criteria listed in this link. After meeting the eligibility requirements, you can start the application procedure by looking at the graduate admissions guide.

After looking through the admissions process for your academic level, you can start applying for scholarships offered by KAIST University. In order to help you with that, we have listed three prestigious scholarships for international students in the section down below.

Also known as Global Korea Scholarship, this scholarship program at KAIST is funded by the National Institute of International Education, and another name for this scholarship program is the Korean Government Scholarships. Available to both undergraduate and graduate applicants, this award is a full-ride scholarship that contains many financial benefits.

Even though this scholarship program is not given by KAIST University, you can use the financial benefits from Global Korea Scholarship if you get admitted into KAIST. In order to be considered, international applicants need to first check their eligibility criteria using the links provided above.

If you meet the application requirements, you send the application materials to your nearby Korean embassy, and through the Embassy Track, your application will be considered by the Korean Ministry of Education. In addition to this scholarship application, you also have to apply for KAIST admissions and receive the letter of admissions, which is a hard thing to do.
