Yonsei University Scholarships 2024-2025
Being a private research university located in South Korea, Yonsei University was established in 1885 with the goal of educating future leaders in the spirit of Christianity. Due to its academic excellence and international renown, Yonsei University has become a member of SKY, which is a short acronym that lists the three most prestigious institutions in South Korea.
Due to its reputation and academic prestige, many international students get their first taste of living in South Korea through Yonsei International Summer School. Whether it be through in-person classes or through internships, many international applicants fall in love with the Korean culture through their summer experiences.
In order to attract more international students into South Korea, this institution has dedicated much funding to scholarships and created numerous Yonsei University scholarships that will lower your cost of attendance. How Do I Apply To Yonsei University Scholarships?
If you want to apply for scholarships at Yonsei University, you first need to get admitted into this institution. Before you start the admissions process, you need to keep in mind that Yonsei University is split into many smaller colleges and institutes.
As an international applicant, you first need to choose your academic program and then, you need to select the language that you want to be taught in (English or Korean). 1. Korean Government Scholarship Program (KGSP)

Fully funded by the Korean Government, this scholarship program was initiated by the Korean Ministry of Education to attract talented individuals from overseas. If you do become KGSP Scholarship Recipient, you will be able to enjoy full-ride benefits while studying at Yonsei University. These scholarship benefits don’t just only apply to Yonsei University since this scholarship award is applicable to many institutions located in South Korea.
For Yonsei University, there are no set academic restrictions to prospective applicants since Korean Government Scholarship Programs are awarded to both undergraduates and graduates. Even though all the needed information is listed on the Korean Government Website, it doesn’t hurt to double-check the requirements stated by Yonsei University.
2. Underwood International College Admissions Scholarship

Underwood International College offers courses taught entirely in English, which poses no problem for international students. Since you can learn the Korean language at your own pace, you will feel less stressed because all your academic courses will be taught in a language that you already know.
Since many international students apply to Underwood International College established by Yonsei University, they have decided to award top applicants with this prestigious scholarship at Yonsei University. This award does not require a separate scholarship application, which means you will be automatically considered if you turn in the admissions application to Underwood International College (UIC).
3. Yonsei University Graduate Scholarships

Being a graduate version of UIC, the Graduate School of International Studies also offers many programs taught entirely in English, which is quite suitable for international applicants. To reduce your financial burden, Yonsei University has established numerous scholarships that can pay for your full tuition!
In addition to scholarships at Yonsei University, prospective applicants can apply for work-study positions, research & teaching assistantships, and internship opportunities. If you try hard enough, this means that you will receive funding that can cover your total cost of attendance. If you get the graduate scholarship, you will be able to cover your full tuition, and if you apply and get hired for one of these three positions, the monthly stipend will be more than enough to cover your living expenses (room & board).

As I have said before, Underwood International College only offers courses taught entirely in English, but the selection of academic programs might be small.
