How Do I Apply to Southern Cross University Scholarships?

Southern Cross University is one of the top choices of international students seeking high-quality education at Australian Universities. It partners with other international universities delivering an exchange of research and knowledge across different fields of study. The university requires international students (including recipients of scholarships) to enroll for full-time study.

The basic requirements for admission at the university include a certified copy of academic transcripts (including details of grading system), degree certificates (if applicable), passing scores of standardized exams required to study in Australia, and academic or employer references, and an advanced standing application (if required).

Undergraduate applicants must provide an entry score equivalent to the Australian Year 12 qualifications (measured by the Australian Tertiary Admissions Rank (ATAR)). Southern Cross University Scholarships

1. Vice Chancellor’s Academic Excellence Scholarship

The Southern Cross University offers Vice Chancellor’s Academic Excellence Scholarships to outstanding international students pursuing their higher education in Australia. It will recognize candidates who have the potential to excel in their fields of study and present excellent levels of English language proficiency. Students must exceed the minimum entry requirements of their chosen degree programs to receive the scholarships. Additionally, they must be applying for a full-time study in any undergraduate or postgraduate coursework degree at one of the university’s campuses (Gold Coast, Lismore, or Coffs Harbour campus).

Applicants for undergraduate programs must have qualifications equivalent to Australian Year 12, obtain the required grade for entry on their chosen degree programs, and qualify for the English language requirements (IELTS 6.0 overall score with no band less than 5.5). Meanwhile, applicants for Master’s degree coursework must have qualifications equivalent to an Australian Bachelor’s degree and obtain an IELTS overall score of at least 6.5.

Students must finish all units (8 units per year) as they move from one academic year to the next to remain eligible for the scholarships. They must also comply with the attendance requirements of their degree programs and the student visa conditions. Furthermore, they must not be a permanent resident of Australia or New Zealand.

These Southern Cross University scholarships will pay $8,000 as tuition fee reduction each academic year. Students may receive the awards in installments, starting their first term and continuing, depending on their academic performance in each study term or session.

2. The Outstanding Academic Excellence Scholarship

The Southern Cross University provides the opportunity to international students to apply for the Outstanding Academic Excellence Scholarships. It will award high-caliber students with outstanding academic achievements presenting the potential to excel in their chosen field of study. These scholarships available at the Southern Cross University are only available to some undergraduate and postgraduate degrees offered by the university.

Students must have exceeded the minimum entry requirements of their chosen degree programs. They should be new international students applying full-time study to an eligible undergraduate or postgraduate degree programs at the university’s campuses in Lismore or Coffs Harbour. Furthermore, they may receive up to $15,000 per year in a maximum funding period of 4 years.

3. SCU International Regional Scholarship

The Southern Cross University proudly offers scholarships to international students pursuing their higher education in Australia. It will award high achieving students applying to any undergraduate or postgraduate degree programs at the university.

Students must not be citizens or permanent residents of Australia or New Zealand. They must be applying for a full-time study to any university campuses in Lismore, Gold Coast, or Coffs Harbour. Undergraduate applicants must have qualifications equivalent to an Australian Year 12, obtain the grade required for entry in their chosen degree programs, and an IELTS 6.0 overall score with no band less than 5.5. Whereas, postgraduate applicants must be Bachelor’s degree holders and meet the English language requirements equivalent to an IELTS 6.5 overall score. There may be additional entry requirements depending on their chosen courses/programs.

Students may receive a $5,000 tuition fee waiver per year which are paid in installments starting their first study session and continuing if they stay eligible to receive the awards. They must complete and pass all units in their study session to continue receiving the awards. Moreover, they must comply with the attendance requirements of their degree programs and the conditions of their student visa.
