When it was initiated in the year 1559 by Jean Calvin, it was referred to as Geneva Academy. Back then, the academy was a theological and humanist seminary. Furthermore, during the Age of Enlightenment, it was considered a hub for budding scientists and individuals who were beginning to dabble in the fields of law, philosophy, and even physical & natural sciences.

Currently, it is now an institute of higher learning that focuses on providing students with high-quality education and encouraging impactful researchers to conduct studies that will help their country and the world. In fact, the institution is a known member of the League of European Research Universities. Moreover, the Center for World University Rankings placed it at the 55th place for best university in the world for the academic year 2018 to 2019. In addition to this, it was the 2nd best university in Switzerland during that same year. Here, we will be looking at some of the best scholarships available at the University of Geneva.

There are 9 faculties at the center of learning: Sciences, Medicine, Humanities, Social Sciences, Economics & Management, Law, Theology, Psychology & Educational Sciences, and Translation & Interpreting. Additionally, there are a number of interfaculty centers and institutes at the university.

The University of Geneva offers a variety of courses and programs for students across the undergraduate, master’s, and postgraduate levels.

Incoming Bachelor’s and Master’s students are to start their application process by filling out a pre-application form to learn about the deadlines, requirements, and more when it comes to applying for their chosen course. After this, they must take note of all necessary information provided for them. Then, the next step is to prepare all the required documents and start the registration process, which contains a different set of steps to follow.

Now, as for the registration, it begins with creating an ORISIS account, and it is followed by completing the online enrollment application. Afterward, the applicant is to pay the CHF 65 registration fee. If this is successfully accomplished, the next thing to do is create an enrollment file and submit it before the stated deadline. When all of these steps are done, the student now has the option to confirm his or her enrollment.

Future Ph.D. students should be aware that the process for application is similar to that of Bachelor’s and Master’s students, but of course, there is a different application form that can be accessed here. The doctoral programs start during the spring or autumn semester, but interested students are allowed to submit applications any time throughout the academic year.
