Technical University of Munich Scholarships

1. TUM Scholarship for International Students

  • Scholarship Amount: €500 – 10,500 per semester
  • Degrees Offered: Bachelor; Master

The Bavarian Government offers this financial assistance to all international students currently enrolled at the Technical University of Munich but are not eligible for BAfÖG.

Bachelor’s Degree students entering their third semester and Master’s Degree students entering their second semester may apply for this Technical University of Munich scholarship. Master’s Degree students who earned their Bachelor’s Degree at TUM may apply for the scholarship in their first semester. Scholars may re-apply for the scholarship for every succeeding semester.

2. Deutschlandstipendium

  • Scholarship Amount: €300 per month for 12 months
  • Degrees Offered: Bachelor; Master

Deutschlandstipendium offers financial assistance to international students who want to pursue an undergraduate or a Master’s degree in Germany. It has so far offered such to over 5,000 students since it started.

Incoming applicants from outside Germany must already have prior admission confirmation or have already enrolled at TUM when applying for this scholarship. 3. Erasmus Mundus Program for MaMaSELF+

  • Degrees Offered: Master’s in Materials Science

The Technical University of Munich is one of six partner universities of the Erasmus Mundus Program that offers this scholarship for international students from non-EU/EEA countries who want to earn a two-year Master’s Degree in Materials Science.

This scholarship at Technical University of Munich covers part of the tuition fees and health insurance, living allowance, and travel cost. Selection is based on academic performance and is highly competitive.

4. Loschge Scholarship

Loschge Scholarship Endowment offers this financial assistance to domestic and international students currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program at TUM School of Mechanical Engineering.

5. DAAD Scholarship

DAAD or the German Academic Exchange Service offers scholarships to international students who wish to pursue a Master’s Degree in any field at the Technical University of Munich. The scholarship covers the whole duration of the program.

In addition to the monthly allowance, scholars can receive a travel allowance, health insurance, study allowance, and more. Incoming students who want to take German language lessons before starting the study program may also receive financial assistance from DAAD.

6. Linde/MDSI Master Scholarship

  • Degrees Offered: Master in Data Engineering and Analytics; Masters in Mathematics in Data Science

International students currently enrolled in either of the two Master’s programs indicated above may apply for the Linde / MDSI Master Scholarship. The scholarship is valid for 12 months. Female students are strongly encouraged to apply.

7. Scholarship of the Roland Mall Foundation

  • Scholarship Amount: €500 per month
  • Degrees Offered: Master’s Degree relevant to areas of water and environment

The Roland Mall Foundation offers this scholarship to three eligible scholars. Both domestic and international students may apply. Proficiency in the German language is required for international students. Special consideration may be given to Master’s Degree students in Civil Engineering and Mechanical Engineering.

Applicants must be enrolled in their first semester in the program. This Technical University of Munich scholarship will be awarded for the regular duration of the program.
