How Do I Apply to University of East Anglia Scholarships?

The University of East Anglia offers a wide range of scholarship opportunities to international students who obtain an offer to study in one of their available degree programs. These are government-funded but mostly are from the institution itself. With over 3,000 international students studying at their campuses, the UEA became one of the top international institutions in Europe.

Students who want to apply for admission may submit their applications through the UCAS. The university will assess their profile if they’re eligible for the available scholarships. Generally, the minimum requirements for admission in an undergraduate program include students to achieve a Grade C or Grade 4 in GCSE English and GCSE Mathematics (or equivalent). Furthermore, the university usually requires at least three A-levels of qualifications or the equivalent. There will also be specific requirements in varying courses.

Applicants for postgraduate degree programs must hold a degree certification (Bachelor’s or Master’s) and provide proof of academic achievement and knowledge in their field of interest or research proposal. 1. Chevening Scholarship

The University of East Anglia is one of the universities in the UK that’s been funded by the government for Chevening Scholarships. The UK Government aims to award these scholarships to emerging young leaders and outstanding individuals who will pursue Master’s taught courses at the university. The scholarship program is highly competitive, with only 3 available awards to students from the EU and 160 other countries across the globe.

Students may receive a fully-funded scholarship available at the University of East Anglia that will cover their full tuition fees, living expenses, and airfare travel. They will be able to experience engagement activities which include networking events, volunteering programs, and at the same time, experience the beauty and cultural diversity of the UK. Students will also have access to global networking with over 48,000 Chevening Alumni.

Applicants must be coming from a Chevening-eligible country holding a Bachelor’s degree from an international/state-recognized educational institution. They must possess good leadership skills, an excellent academic performance from the previous study, and have at least 2 years of work experience.

2. International and EU Scholarship Scheme

The International and EU Scholarship Scheme is for European and international students who want to study in an undergraduate program at the University of East Anglia. It will recognize outstanding individuals who demonstrate how the institution will help them contribute and make changes in their chosen fields of study and the university and its community. Students may be applying for admission in any areas of disciplines, excluding MB/BS Medicine, BSc Physiotherapy, and BSc Occupational Therapy.

Students who will receive this University of East Anglia awards may get £4000 per year to cover their tuition fees for 3 years of undergraduate study at the university. They must already be holding a conditional or unconditional offer for admission upon applying for the scholarship scheme. It should include a statement that the applicant is an international fee-paying student. Students must show demonstrate a strong personal statement and an engaging letter of purpose.

3. UEA+ Elite Sports Developing Excellence Scholarship

  • Degrees offered: Undergraduate, Master’s, and/or Ph.D.

The University of East Anglia recognizes top-performing international student-athletes by offering them scholarship opportunities to support their study in the UK. It has three scholarship types that are awarded depending on the performance levels of students. These are Elite Scholarship – National Performance Pathway, Excellence Scholarship – National level, and Developing Excellence Scholarship – Regional level. Generally, the university requires students performing at least on a regional level to qualify for the Developing Excellence scholarship.

These scholarships at the University of East Anglia are open to all students in every region of the globe, which will be the first choice of their chosen degree programs upon admission. Students applying for an undergraduate or postgraduate degree (taught programs or research) will receive an invitation from the university to apply for the scholarships. Depending on their performance level on their sports, they may receive up to $1,500 and other benefits, including UEA Sportspark Gym and Swim membership, Sports Association membership, UEA+Sport Scholar kit, and other health and lifestyle support.
