How do I apply to the University of Ulsan Scholarships?

Government scholarships and funding opportunities from the University will be provided to international students who meet the entry requirements and eligibility criteria to study in South Korea. Applicants must certify their foreign citizenship on their admission application. They must also present certain levels of Korean Language proficiency depending on their chosen degree programs.

Undergraduate applicants must have completed their high school and provide at least a TOPIK level 3 or above to get a University of Ulsan scholarship. They must complete at least 300 hours of intensive Korean language training (during their first year) and obtain a TOPIK level 4 when they graduate. Other requirements include a certificate and transcripts of their Year 12, proof of family relationships, a copy of their valid passport, an alien registration card (if available), and a medical certificate (tests for tuberculosis and hepatitis).

1. Global Korea Scholarship

The University of Ulsan is one of the universities in South Korea that has access to scholarships from the Korean government. One of the most popular scholarship programs international students apply for every year is the Korea Global Scholarship. It awards all non-Korean citizens who will undertake a Bachelor’s, Master’s, and/or Ph.D. degree at the University of Ulsan. However, applicants must meet the conditions and eligibility criteria to start receiving the award.

This scholarship program available for the University of Ulsan offers 220 available slots for undergraduate applicants and 1,000 slots for postgraduate applicants, which numbers may change depending on the available budget. Students must present certification of their citizenship. Undergraduate applicants must have completed 12 years of elementary and high school and provide at least 80% of their final grade in Year 12. 2. University of Ulsan Global Scholarships

  • Scholarship amount: 15% to 35% off tuition fees for undergraduate degrees and up to 100% off tuition fees for postgraduate degrees
  • Degrees offered: Undergraduate, Master’s, and/or Ph.D.

The University of Ulsan offers scholarships to international students who will pursue their studies in one of their undergraduate and/or postgraduate degree programs. These scholarships will cover the tuition fees of students, which values depend on their level of eligibility. There are nationality, academic, and language requirements for students who want to apply for the scholarship.

Students and their parents must be non-Korean citizens. If both parties hold a Korean dual-citizenship, they are not eligible for the program (excluding Taiwanese nationals). Undergraduate applicants must have completed 12 years of education (in elementary and high school) and satisfy a TOPIK score of 3 or higher. Their TOPIK results will determine the value of their scholarship award. They may receive up to 35% off their tuition fees and fully-paid dormitory and meal expenses if they achieve a TOPIK score of level 5+.

Postgraduate applicants must provide completion of their Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree and provide a letter of approval from a professor of their degree major. The scholarship value will depend on their academic and research achievements. If they get this University of Ulsan scholarship, they may receive up to 35% off their tuition fees and full coverage of their dormitory and meal expenses.

Applicants for the Master’s program (or combined) must be a Bachelor’s degree holder or have an equivalent qualification. Doctoral students must have completed a Master’s degree or equivalent. Those who are yet to graduate upon applying must provide a graduation date. However, they should submit their diplomas before the admission date.

Certain levels of qualification will determine the value of scholarships international students will obtain.
