The University of Alberta offers numerous entrance scholarships for students who obtain acceptance to an undergraduate program at the university. Admission at the UAlberta depends on the student’s academic merit, their English proficiency levels, and completion of required research or subject areas.

University of Alberta Scholarships for International Students
1. International Admission Scholarships

The University of Alberta offers a wide array of scholarship opportunities for Canadian and international students to study in an undergraduate program offered at their university. The Vanier Canada Graduate Scholarship will give financial support to Canadian and foreign nationals who will pursue a Ph.D. degree in one of their accredited Canadian institutions. The support grant will cover the 3-year Ph.D. coursework of students at the University of Alberta. However, if students apply for a Master’s leading to Ph.D. courses, they should cover their expenses after the funding period expires or consult a professor for more insights about it.
Students must pursue their first doctoral degree (including a joint UG/PG research program like MD/Ph.D., DVM/Ph.D., JD/Ph.D.) on a full-time basis following the scholarship application results. Priority areas of studies include Health Research, Natural Sciences, Engineering Research, Social Sciences, and/or Humanities Research. There is no direct application for this University of Alberta scholarship. Applicants must first select their preferred institution and inform them of their intent to apply to the Vanier CGS program. 3. Pierre Elliot Trudeau Foundation Doctoral Scholarships

The Pierre Elliot Trudeau Foundation will provide financial support for doctoral students studying in Canada. The Government of Canada funds this program for Canadian and international citizens who are enrolled or are studying in a Ph.D. research or coursework in Advanced Research in Humanities and Human Sciences at a Canadian University.
The Foundation will evaluate every applicant’s academic performance and intellectual capacity through evaluating their submitted academic transcripts and referrals.
