Uppsala University is the very first university in Sweden, and it is famed for its historically rich background dating back to 1477. It is included in the list of the world’s 100 best universities but the institute of higher learning is not only recognized for being the oldest one in the country. As a matter of fact, it is presently known as a top public research university with a mission to produce high-quality research and provide world-class education to all of its students. These goals of the institution are all, of course, for the benefit of society. Here, we will talk about various scholarships that are available at Uppsala University.

In the university, there are disciplinary domains that are then branched out into several faculties. There is the Disciplinary Domain of Humanities and Social Sciences with six Faculties, as well as the Disciplinary Domain of Medicine and Pharmacy consisting of two faculties, and the Disciplinary Domain of Science and Technology composed of only one faculty.

With this, there are 12 campus locations at the university. These are the Blåsenhus, Uppsala Biomedical Center (BMC), Campus Gotland, Evolutionary Biology Center (EBC), Ekonomikum, English Park Campus, Gamla Torget Campus, Geo Center, Information Technology Center (ITC), Rubdeck Laboratory, Uppsala University Hospital, and lastly, Ångström Laboratory.

All of the campus areas mentioned above are complete with state-of-the-art facilities and the latest technology, which largely enhances students’ learning experiences. This brings us to the students and to the fact that the university has a number of recognizable alumni. This includes astronomer, physicist, & mathematician Anders Celsius who discovered the 100-degree thermometer scale, meteorologist & Arctic explorer Finn Malmgren, infectious disease specialist Otto Cars, co-founder of Skype Niklas Zennström, and poet & novelist Karin Boye.
