University College Dublin Scholarships for International Students

1. Global Excellence Scholarship

Outstanding international students with an offer for admission at an eligible degree program may receive a full tuition fee scholarship or a half-tuition scholarship at the University College Dublin. This scholarship is valid for first-time applicants at the UCD. International students pursuing a UCD program after completing an International Foundation Year are not eligible for this scholarship.

The scholarship is highly competitive, and only a limited number of applicants may receive the award. There are three regional competitions held annually among undergraduate students from North America, graduate students in South Asia, and undergraduate and graduate students in all other regions.

Recipients of the scholarship must pay a deposit for registration at UCD. They will later receive a refund of the deposit after receiving the award. Scholars can retain the Global Excellence Scholarship if they meet the credit requirements in the program and maintain a GPA of 3.08/4.20.

2. College of Engineering and Architecture Scholarships for Non-EU Students

Incoming students from non-EU countries enrolling in a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree at the College of Engineering and Architecture may apply for a scholarship worth €3,000 to €10,000 as a deduction from the university fees.

Recipients of other awards may not be eligible for this scholarship. If the students applied for several scholarships and qualified for two or more, they may only use the scholarship with the highest value.

Scholars may apply for renewal annually as long as they meet the minimum course and grade requirements.

3. Government of Ireland Scholarship

  • Degrees Offered: Bachelor, Master, Ph.D.

UCD students can apply for a Government of Ireland Scholarship for their final year in an undergraduate degree, one year at a regular Master’s Degree program, or one year of a Master’s or Ph.D. research program. This scholarship available at the University College Dublin is valid for only one year. It covers the cost of the tuition and provides a €10,000 allowance for one year.

4. Universitas 21 Alumni Scholarship

Students with an undergraduate degree from any member of Universitas 21 may apply for a scholarship before studying at UCD. You may find the list of U21 member countries and universities on this page.

The scholarship covers €3,000 of the non-EU tuition fees for scholars paying the non-EU fee rate. Meanwhile, it covers 10% of the EU tuition fees based on the EU fee rate. This University College Dublin scholarship is valid for full-time taught graduate degree programs at UCD.

5. UCD IFY Scholarships
